Talk to the engineer, not a call centre • fast response

In short: For a business, a blocked drain can mean closing a kitchen, losing a day's trade or failing an inspection. Network Drains provides emergency callouts for commercial premises, plus planned maintenance (jetting, CCTV inspections and grease trap advice) that catches problems before they stop work. Work can be timed around trading hours.

Commercial drains work harder than domestic ones. A restaurant kitchen puts more fat down its drains in a week than most homes do in a year, a block of flats has dozens of households sharing a few runs, and an industrial unit's yard drains take silt and run-off every time it rains.

The cost of a blockage is higher too, which is why planned maintenance usually pays for itself.

Who we work with

  • Restaurants, cafés, pubs and takeaways
  • Landlords, letting agents and managing agents with multiple units
  • Offices, shops and retail units
  • Industrial and warehouse units with yard and surface water drainage
  • Schools, care homes and other premises where drains can't be out of action

Fat, oil and grease in commercial kitchens

Fat poured down a commercial sink builds up in the drain and the public sewer beyond it, and it is against the law to put anything into a public sewer that interferes with its flow. A correctly sized grease trap or separator, emptied regularly, combined with good kitchen habits and periodic jetting, keeps a kitchen's drains open and shows an inspector you're managing it.

Planned drainage maintenance

Rather than waiting for a blockage, we can set up regular visits to jet the drains that cause trouble and inspect them with a CCTV camera, so wear and build-up are caught early. Visits are timed around opening hours, and you get a record of what's been done for your maintenance and compliance files.

Emergency callouts

When a drain blocks during trading, you need a fast, honest answer. Call and you'll speak to the engineer, who will tell you how quickly they can get there and what's likely to be involved. Out-of-hours work is available so customers and tenants are disrupted as little as possible. See emergency drainage.

Landlords and multiple properties

For rental properties, we report back clearly on what caused a blockage, whether it was tenant misuse or a defect in the drain, and who's responsible for fixing it, with footage where it helps.

Questions people ask

Do you offer drainage maintenance contracts?

Yes. We agree a schedule based on the property and its history, from a single kitchen to a portfolio of units, so you're not paying for visits you don't need.

Can you work outside opening hours?

Yes. Early mornings, evenings and weekends can be arranged so the work doesn't disrupt customers or tenants.

Do you provide reports for compliance or insurance?

Yes. We can supply written reports and CCTV footage for maintenance records, insurers and property managers.
